Background:
Hoosier Uplands is a local non-profit agency based in Southern Indiana that serves as an Area Agency on Aging, Community Action Agency, licensed Home Health Care and Hospice agency, and Community Housing Development Organization. The mission of Hoosier Uplands, is to plan, implement or cause to be implemented, and provide comprehensive services to the poor, elderly, and disabled. Hoosier Uplands administrators desired a website that was functional and easily navigable for the communities surrounding southern Indiana. The website needed to entice user interaction as well as be organized in an efficient manner that website visitors could easily find and ascertain information pertaining to the mission of Hoosier Uplands. The website also needed to have a easy to manage administrative module so Hoosier Uplands program leads could maintain their website content real time. Our Technique Perfection Web Designs coordinated numerous data requirement sessions via interviews, panel discussions, and brainstorming sessions through face-to-face meetings, phone conferences, and email communication. We met with Hoosier Uplands administrators and program leads to ensure all end user requirements (both website visitors and the staff of Hoosier Uplands) were met. Our approach was to create a content management system website that utilized a database management system by dynamically populating web pages. Using popular website development technologies such as ASP.NET and a SQL Server DBMS, we were able to meet and exceed our users' requirements. We created an online administrative control panel that allowed Hoosier Uplands program leads the ability to log into the website, and view specific sections that they were allowed control over. With our easy to use text editor, program leads could create brand new pages, edit existing content, add/update news & information, maintain a photo gallery, as well as create links to specific departments. We created an interactive front kiosk slider that website visitors could easily view Hoosier Uplands mission departments. We also created a dynamically driven menu system that program leads could maintain through the administrative control panel, as well as dynamic news and event calendar controls. Perfection Web Designs also created an easy to use Intranet module for Hoosier Upland program leads. Through the Intranet module, they can view everything associated with their department, as well as things like Health Regulations and mission related forms. Result
The final product was a stylish yet easy to use premium branded website for community members throughout Southern Indiana. Easily navigational menus provide visitors the ability to view department information, request additional information, downloadable content, and much more. |
